What's in my trash jar? - March 2018

March felt like the longest month ever and while i'm happy it's now April, I'm sad March has come to an end. I now have to wait another year until my birthday! DOH. I had such a good time and despite birthday celebrations my trash wasn't as bad as I had been expecting. Most of the waste created this month has come from packaging that my online purchases came in and the rest has mostly been items used up and bought pre zero waste journey. Now you are probably thinking, Adele?! That's not very environmentally friendly! However, all of the stuff ordered was from gift cards I had received from family and friends for my birthday and I'm very grateful to have recieved them :) Although I always contact the seller asking for minimal packaging and no plastic, it rarely happens and I just have to accept it. I am very appreciative that my family and friends tried to make my birthday as low waste as possible. My presents were even wrapped in fabric and newspaper which totally made my day!

Here's my rubbish for the month:

Contents:

- X3 plastic packaging from online orders including a piece of unnecessary foam

- Xylitol packaging

- Vegan mince packet

- Plastic wrapping from a purchase

- Train tickets

- Medication blister packets

- Old recipts

- Plastic sleeve from new phone

- Variety of stickers and balls of selotape

- Battery packaging

- Baking paper

- Envelope windows and anti stick strips

- Clothing label

- Dental floss

- Metal discs from tealights

- Strings of fabric from clothing - unfortunatley made of plastic so cannot be composted :(
